Body Image Series

In the later stages of her degree, Claire focused upon the human body; in particular the way in which the female form is depicted in art. Claire was interested in the way in which the female nude was traditionally presented throughout history. Claire’s work tried to challenge the way in which the female body was represented; depicting it in a more abstract and ambiguous form. The Body Image Series incorporates both abstract oil painting and many mixed media collage pieces. Claire has continued to work in this way over the years and has recently added to the series in September 2007.
